Spacers and Adhesives - Constraint relating to adhesion
Overview | Rear Adhesive | Constraint relating to adhesion
The adhesive and the spacer layers will require selective die cut in areas having LED and/or LCD windows as viewing areas in order to not hinder the optical quality.
- Typical adhesive thicknesses are: 0.002", 0.0035" and 0.005". For a porous or irregular surface, a thicker back adhesive is recommended.
- To ensure a proper surface of adhesion, a minimum distance of 0.100" must be considered in the following common scenarios:
- Distance between two cutouts that completely traverse the membrane keypad
- Distance between two windows
- Distance between two embossed features
- Distance between the edge of the keypad and a window, an embossed key or a cutout
- The "0.100" minimum spacing" design rule is strongly recommended. Any exception to this rule should be discussed with your GGI International representative.
