GENERAL
The performance and reliability of your membrane keypad assembly rests heavily on the proper choice of spacers and adhesives used within the assembly. GGI International uses proven, tested, high quality components in the construction of its user interface assemblies. When using several layers of adhesives to bond, isolate and separate the components within the membrane keypad, it is essential that the selected products have the necessary robustness and resilience to support a constant use. One must also take into account the adverse conditions to which the keypads are likely to be subjected, which can affect their functionality, performance and their life expectancy. Adhesive selection should not be taken lightly. GGI International's designers, engineers and extensive environmental test data will ensure proper material selection compatible to your exact application.
SPACERS AND ADHESIVES:
Membrane keypad adhesives (excluding the very rear adhesive) are designed to bond the key layers (graphic overlay, circuit layers, shield layer, spacers and windows) into a cohesive package. In the case of a non-tactile switch, the spacer provides the necessary gap between the active circuit layers. For a tactile switch, the spacer provides clearance for domes to function correctly.
