GENERAL INFORMATION: LEDs and resistances are among only some of the common components that GGI International assembles to the circuit layer of its user interface keypads. In order to be integrated directly onto the polyester circuit of the membrane switch keypad, these components must be SMT, (surface mount technology) compatible.
- LEDs are often used as indicators on the front panels. They come in various sizes and colors, and embedding them directly in the membrane can be very cost effective. Embedded LEDs can also be used for backlighting specific elements of the membrane switch keypad assembly.
Resistors can also be integrated directly onto the circuit of the membrane switch keypad. For applications where the current is not modulated at the source, they will be used for this function in order to correctly distribute the current to the various components, such as LEDs.- In addition to the LEDs and resistors, GGI International also has the capacity to integrate other SMT components within the keypad circuit, such as diodes, transistors, photosensors, etc.
