Connectors - Overview
Overview | One-step | Two-steps | ZIF/LIF-Compatible
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The connector on a membrane switch keypad is what is used to ensure the connection between our keypad and the device on which it will be installed and connected. The connector consists of pins and a molded plastic receptacle/housing. The connectors most commonly used by GGI International can be divided into two main categories: connectors having separate pins and receptacle and connectors having the pins and the receptacle integrated within a single part. These two kinds are designated by GGI International as: a) one-step connector or b) two-step connector.
The connectors are also gendered as female or male, according to the type of connections on which the keypad will be connected.
It is important to select your membrane tail termination option correctly. This will ensure that it is mechanically compatible with the OEM equipment on which it will be installed. GGI International can integrate several types of crimping connectors as well as ZIF/LIF compatible connections. GGI International's engineers will advise and recommend the best connector option for your specific application.
