The following recommendations are presented as a general guideline. GGI will assist you and ensure all critical parameters are respected in order to achieve the desired end result.
- Minimum distance between the keys: 4mm (0.157")
- Minimum distance between the actuation webs : 1mm (0.3937")
- Minimum distance between any feature on the keypad : 1mm (0.3937")
- Minimum distance between any feature and the edge of the keypad : 1mm (0.3937")
- Minimum gap between the edge of the key and the key opening in the bezel. : 0.3mm (0.012")
- The bottom of the bezel should incorporate a 45 degree chamfer to make certain that the actuation web of the switch is not obstructed.
- If possible, some mounting features should be included to ease assembly
- All keys require air channels for proper venting : 1.5mm wide x 0.3mm deep minimum
- Keys should be vented on at least two sides
- Maximum key top curvature for concave or convex keys : 0.5mm (0.020")

- Dimensional Tolerance (mm / inch).

Design consideration note: In the case where the design of the keys is made with a flat web design rather than with a 45° web design, some of the constraints may disappear or can be adjusted. For example, in this case the constraint f) disappears.
